Software for Building Savings Banks among Microsoft Awards Winners

The new core banking system StarBUILD II for building savings banks, and especially the possibility to provide its functionalities through web services, has become the winner of the Microsoft Awards 2012. The prize is honored annually to the best the best IT projects implemented by Microsofts´ partners on the MS technologies.

System StarBUILD II constitutes a new technological generation of core banking systems for building savings banks. It was implemented in the Stavební spořitelna České spořitelny (SSČS).

One of its key benefits of the system is that based upon online web services the functionalities that so far had been available mainly internally also for external front-end system of the Česká spořitelna. , This solution brought to SSČS faster communication, automation and optimization of business processes. For clients SSČS this means easier access to their building savings products and shorter time for processing their requests. The new solution also enabled on-line connection for Internet banking system of the Česká spořitelna with system StarBUILD II in SSČS. Thus, the clients obtain the benefit of a direct access to their accounts and building saving loans.

"Fast and flexible data exchange with clients and distribution channels is very important to us. On-line connection between our core-banking system and the front-end applications of the Česká spořitelna will allow us to shorten the response time, automate more of the processes associated with the dealing of client requirements and provide real data to other current systems. I especially appreciate the compliance with the planned schedule and budget," commented the solution of Asseco Central Europe Director of Information Technology at SSČS Robert Drozda.

The new core-banking system StarBUILD II is built on the MS.NET platform. One of its key aspects is service-oriented architecture (SOA), which brings significant simplification in the integration with other front-end systems, and increasing the reusability of the solutions. This results in reduction of information system integration costs.

The SOA technologies implemented in the system StarBUILD II enables further easy expansion of the web services portfolio, making the StarBUILD II core system´s additional functionalities accessible for other external front-end applications.

Stavební spořitelna České spořitelny
Stavební spořitelna České spořitelny (SSČS) belongs to one of the major groups in the domestic market - Financial Group of the Česká spořitelna. SSČS offers to its clients building savings accounts with state support. It provides loans tied to housing needs funding. As of 31 December 2011 SSČS administered almost 1 100 000 building saving accounts and nearly 190,000 credit accounts. SSČS distributes its products through the branch network of the Česká spořitelna and its external partners. To increase SSČS´s operational excellence processes counts to the permanent strategic goals. For more information on SSČS visit www.burinka.cz.

Asseco CE Financial Results: Revenues Increased by 5% in 2011

Asseco Central Europe, which operates in Slovakia, the Czech Republic and Hungary, has announced its consolidated financial results for 2011. The company’s total revenues came to EUR 133.49 million, which is 5% higher than a year earlier.

“The 2011 results confirm that the consolidation of the Czech company into Asseco Central Europe Group was successful. Moreover, I consider very positive the fact that the 5% rise in revenues resulted from organic growth of the company, rather than from mergers or acquisitions,” says CEO Jozef Klein.

In Slovakia, the company reaffirmed its strong position in the private sector, particularly in banking and finance. It intensified its activities in the e-health field and public sector. In the Czech Republic, Asseco Central Europe celebrated a success in the public sphere as it won the new strategic project to develop the Register of Rights and Obligations. Nevertheless, as in Slovakia, Asseco CE focused more, too, on the private sector in the Czech Republic.

Outstanding results were supported also by the subsidiary companies, such as Hungary–based Statlogics. That company, which focuses on developing credit scoring software, was building on the previous year’s success and, in addition to its activities in Russia, started new business also in Kazakhstan and Serbia.

An excellent evaluation by the ČEKIA Stability Award

The ČEKIA rating provides an independent view of the financial and non-financial standing of the company. It expresses the present state and financial situation including the prediction of a future risk.

The AAA grade is the highest possible rating on the ten-grade scale and less than ten per cent of Czech companies reaches it.

The model is based on a statistic analysis. Individual company data such as demographic indicators, payment experience information, financial data or relationships among entities are entered in it as well as a macroeconomic component. It monitors the current development in the market and changes depending on the total performance of the economy. The result of the rating is therefore also influenced by the current economic situation. The model monitors the GDP development, price index, the rate of unemployment, export, import or a CNB lombard rate.

Čekia Stability Award
Czech Capital Information Agency (ČEKIA) is a leading provider of economic (financial, credit, trade and marketing) information about companies. On the basis of analytic indicators, it annually awards a stability rating of Czech companies. The ČEKIA Stability Rating is expressed using the grades from AAA (near zero risk) up to D (insolvency). The score specifies the probability of bankruptcy of a company in the upcoming 12 months.
