Asseco has adapted IT medical systems to pandemic conditions

Thanks to an update implemented by Asseco Poland for the National Healthcare Fund (NFZ), the eWUŚ system, which confirms the entitlement to free medical services, simultaneously informs about the quarantine of a given patient and the date of its completion. The integration of the so-called quarantine marker with the IT systems provided by Asseco Poland for hospitals and outpatient clinics has improved the safety of work of doctors and medical staff.

In dynamic pandemic conditions, doctors’ quick access to reliable information about patients at risk of developing COVID-19 is very important for the efficient and safe functioning of the health care system. A person in quarantine may not leave his or her place of residence and thus seek medical advice outside it.

On March 25 this year, the eWUŚ system was supplemented by the so-called quarantine marker. Owing to this, in addition to the information about the right to benefits, the name of the quarantined patient is accompanied by the annotation about the quarantine and its duration. This is important information for doctors, who up until now could only rely on the patient's statement.

The medical systems used by doctors and medical staff in hospitals (the AMMS system) and independent clinics and doctor's offices (the mMedica system) automatically present quarantine information downloaded from the eWUŚ system. This functionality is already available for all health care facilities which have been using these systems.

The development of the software and implementation of the update of the registry system at the National Health Fund (NFZ), supplementing eWUŚ with new functionalities, have been completed by us in record time and I hope they will contribute to the improvement of safety of doctors and patients in medical facilities - said Damian Bankiewicz, Director of the Dedicated Projects Department at the Healthcare Division of Asseco Poland.

The database is regularly updated. According to the Ministry of Health, over 200,000 people are currently under quarantine.
